The Australian Pharmacy Council examined health professional education programs and curricula in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA. We use this literature review to identify approaches to embedding cultural safety into pharmacy education in Australia.

The UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) is an international instrument, adopted by the United Nations. It details the individual and collective rights of Indigenous Peoples globally, constituting the minimum standards for their survival, dignity and well-being. It details their cultural rights, identity, and rights to health, education, and protection of language, traditional land and resources (United Nations, 2008).

Australian Indigenous Health Info Net provide knowledge exchange research. They “aim to make research and other information available in a form that has immediate, practical utility for practitioners and policy-makers in the area of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.” (HealthInfoNet, 2024). They have gathered resources on Cultural Safety for pharmacists.
